Student Sample Post

1. Plants need water, sun, air and nutrients to grow.

2.  The four main parts of a plant are:  Roots, Stems, Leaves, and Flowers

The root of a plant gives the plant food and water to grow tall.  It also helps the plant stand in the soil.

3.   This is a picture of my two favorite flowers.
I chose the 3 pink flowers because it is pink and pink is my favorite color.  I love this flower so much, it is beautiful.  I think I would find this flower in a garden when it is very sunny.  I would love to have this flower in my garden.

4.  I think my favorite flower and a cactus are similar because they both need the same things to grow and live like water and sunlight.  There are different because a cactus is in the desert which is very hot which means it probably doesn't need as much water as my favorite flower.  If my favorite flower was in the desert it would not survive

5.  Here is an interesting fact I found on the website you posted:
Some plants are carnivores, gaining nutrients by eating various small insects and spiders. A well known example of a carnivorous plant is the Venus Flytrap.

6.  After playing the game, I learned that you should not water a plant too much because too much water is not good for them and the seed will not grow into a plant. How much water a plant needs depends on the type of plant.
